Veteran right-hander Charlie Morton intends to pitch an 18th major league season in 2025, when he'll be 41. Read more at MLB Trade Rumors.

However, Braves insider Mark Bowman recently indicated that Morton is leaning towards pitching "at least one more season" despite turning 41 in a few days. He could receive a one-year deal in the $10-15 million range.

With Max Fried likely leaving in free agency, and Spencer Strider not expected to be ready for Opening Day, the Braves really could use Morton to return. As Passan noted, he's a reliable innings-eater, and yet his 1-year contract won't prevent the Braves from signing another top-rotation starter this offseason.

Charlie Morton is aging like a fine wine, and it seems the wily veteran isn’t done. Following the Braves season, it was a possibility that Morton would sail into the sunset of retirement, but a report from Mark Bowman suggested he was leaning towards pitching again in 2025.
