President Biden arrived Thursday in Peru to start his six-day visit to Latin America for the final major international summits of his presidency, as world leaders turn their attention to what Donald Trump’s return to the White House means for their countries.

The APEC summit in Lima Peru takes place under the shadow of the growing conflict between the United States and China, which has become the main economic partner of Peru and South America as a whole.
